I never had the chance to hand Isabella ov...Weird. I never had the chance to hand Isabella over. In fact, my Hawke was so mad at her that she TRIED to rat her out to the Arishok, and he told her that she was responsible for the actions of her companions. (Boy did THAT resonate later on...)

I did notice the "O" thing, and that was the one reason I played things more middle-of-the-road than I would have, otherwise. Didn't trust that bastard, and here he was looking after my beloved sis?

My Hawke REALLY didn't get along with Merril. I think their relationship bottomed out completely, at one point. See, Ms. Hawke decided not to help Merril with her little evil blood mage doom mirror project. Yeah, my sister may be an apostate, but that doesn't mean I'll get suckered into any old nutto magic disaster you dream up. I don't care if it's the reason you lost everyone. Whose fault is that, you silly girl?

And then, Hawke's boyfriend, who warned her 800,000 times about how he was going to break her heart... he wants... what is this? Saltpeter and dragon poo? I bet dragon poo has sulfur in it.

Darling, I think you mixed up the "Tevinter Cure Possession" recipe with the "Qunari Black Powder" recipe. Or is this your own blend of special seasonings? It better be. Because, if it's the Qunari black powder recipe, I don't REALLY want to know how you got your paws on it.

Anyway, I think she's all ready to write her "10 Warning Signs That Your Man May Be a Terrorist" article for Cosmo.

I can't fault them for creating illusory choice, in places where there wasn't any. I've even advocated that approach, before. It sure seemed like maybe you could stop the biggest disaster, but ultimately, it serves exactly the purpose Anders says it does: It removes the middle road and forces a decision, whether we were ready for it or not. Without it... what would have happened there? More lingering tension? No final battle? It may have been a necessary event, to move things forward.

But boy, did I sit there, staring at the screen, for a long, long time, trying to decide what the heck Hawke was going to do with him.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18163213862433540221noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1678761812929125529.post-58094384569564303252011-05-03T11:26:20.345-04:002011-05-03T11:26:20.345-04:00In all the BioWare games I've played thus far ...In all the BioWare games I've played thus far (KotOR, Jade Empire, ME, ME2, DA:O), it has been the STORY of the game that has impressed me most. Sure, I loved many of the gaming elements and yes I was annoyed by some of the gaming elements. But neither those likes or dislikes is what 'decided' the game for me. It has always been story- and the fact that the story is really what YOU make of it.

DA2 is no exception. The depth of the game is what keeps me coming back for more. Sure, folks complain about 'cookie cutter' maps and 'wave-spawning enemies'. Would I like to see more variety? Would I prefer enemies who didn't just pop out of thin air? Sure, but as long as they don't skimp on story and character, I too will be shelling out my money, quite willingly.

Heck, If Bioware came out with a game that was ALL story and no action I'd probably give it a shot.rologutweinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02186173153359166269noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1678761812929125529.post-66316716920336034022011-05-03T10:46:28.103-04:002011-05-03T10:46:28.103-04:00I did rogue on my first and mage in my second time...I did rogue on my first and mage in my second time (about halfway through) as well. On the second time through, I decided to try and make everyone a rival. It's a little harder than making everyone your friend.

Anyway, I didn't use either Isabella or Varic much the first time, but the second time I'm getting to hear their chatter. Isabella does have some interesting conversations with both Avaline and Merrill. Sometimes I wish the conversations trigger earlier than they do. It almost always seems like they're triggering as I'm leaving an area.

I'm ignoring Anders as much as possible this time around. I'm not even talking to him, at all, in part to see how the story handles completely ignoring him after getting the deep roads map. Though I wish I thought of doing that from the very start to see if it's even possible to progress without contacting Anders at all. Is it going to force me to into interacting with him at some point? Probably.

But, yes, I do love how sometimes in my being a jerk play through I pause and say, do I really want to do that?super ratsnoreply@blogger.com
